Biography
Alli Dahl is an educator, entrepreneur, and experiential learning advocate working at the intersection of education, personal growth, and real-world skill development. With a background as a high school chemistry teacher and more than a decade in the classroom, she has dedicated her career to helping students and educators rethink how learning happens and what it should prepare people to do.
After years teaching science, Alli transitioned into private chemistry tutoring and educational consulting, where she now works directly with students to simplify complex concepts, build confidence, and help learners move forward when traditional classroom environments fall short. Her work focuses not only on academic success, but on helping students develop the mindset and resilience needed to navigate challenging subjects and uncertain futures.
Alli is also the co-host of the Disrupt Education Podcast, alongside Peter Hostrawser, where she has interviewed hundreds of innovators across education, workforce development, and industry. The show highlights bold ideas, unconventional paths, and experiential approaches to learning that challenge traditional education models and encourage educators to think differently about what truly prepares students for life.
In addition to her work in education, Alli brings a unique perspective on growth and courage through her role as a tandem skydiving instructor at Skydive Wissota in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Guiding people through one of the most fear-inducing and exhilarating experiences imaginable, she helps participants confront fear, build trust in themselves, and discover what is possible when they step beyond their comfort zone. For Alli, skydiving is more than adventure — it is a powerful metaphor for learning, growth, and the moment when preparation meets courage.
Alli is also a founding member of the CTE Collective, a community of educators and leaders working to elevate the role of career and technical education in shaping the future of learning. Alongside fellow founding members Sandra Adams, Mark Covelle, Peter Hostrawser, Chris Nesmith, Jason Van Nus, TJ Vari, and Kristy Volesky, she is helping grow a movement focused on amplifying practitioner voices, incubating bold ideas, and strengthening the connection between education and the real world. Across all of her work — from tutoring sessions to podcast interviews to jumping out of airplanes — Alli is driven by a simple belief: meaningful learning happens when people are challenged, supported, and given the opportunity to step into experiences that change how they see themselves and the world around them.
